Dispensing
We carry a wide and up to date range of medicines for the efficient dispensing of all NHS and Private prescriptions. When we dispense your prescriptions, our labelling will automatically give you warnings about alcohol, drowsiness, driving and other general precautions.
Repeat Prescriptions
We can collection your repeat prescription from the doctor's surgery on your behalf. Please ask for details.
Emergency Supplies
We may be able to help if you need a prescription only medicine in a genuine emergency when it is impossible to contact your doctor. (There may be a charge in connection with this service that is not normally covered by the NHS.)
Medicine Containers
We put all medicines in “Child Resistant” containers unless you ask us not to. This does not mean that they are CHILDPROOF - no medicine container is. Therefore ALL medicines should be kept out of children's sight and reach. To help elderly or confused people take their medicines correctly, we recommend special containers marked with daily or weekly doses.
Medicine Advice
The pharmacist is available to give you advice about any medication and or treating minor illnesses. We can also make up for medicines especially for you. We have a semi-private area where you can speak in confidence to the pharmacist.
Handicapped Living
We can supply from stock, or to order, wheelchairs, commodes, high seat chairs, anti-pressure products, toilets, kitchen and eating aids. Please ask us for more information.
Hosiery
We can supply every kind of special NHS stockings. We also sell support tights.
Unwanted Medicines
All unused medicines should be returned in confidence to a pharmacy where they will be safely destroyed. Please do not hoard medicines - it can be fatal.
Incontinence Supplies
We can advise you in confidence about helpful items such as pads, pants and mattress covers, sheets and anything else you may need.
Fertility Testing
We can advise you on buying and using thermometers and testing kits for home use. These should when a woman's fertility is at its highest. Full information on how to use these kits is freely available from the pharmacist.
Electric Nebulisers
Electric Nebulisers are used for treating asthma and other breathing problems. You cannot obtain them on a NHS prescription, but your doctor may advise you to buy one from us. We will office full advice and we can also tell you about using a "peak flow" meter to check your progress.
Holiday Needs
Please ask our pharmacist for a list of things that you may need for your holiday. Our pharmacist is always glad to give advice about avoiding sunburn, tummy upsets, malaria and other holiday risks, and to recommend suitable remedies and precautions.
Ear Piercing
We have an ear-piercing service under hygienic conditions authorised by the local council and is operated by experienced staff.
Keeping Yourself Well
Come in and help yourself to our health education leaflets, they are always on display. Do make a special point of looking out for the new ones each month.
Surgery Equipment
We can order medical equipment for doctor's surgeries.
First Aid Supplies
We can supply first aid kits to meet most health and safety requirements. We can also supply special kits for your own needs.
Health Foods
We pride ourselves on our range of health foods, and can give expert advice on choosing dietary supplements such as vitamins, fibre and minerals.
Pregnancy Testing
A small morning urine sample is all that we need. We can usually test it while you wait, or if you prefer, you can buy a home test kit.
Homeopathic Remedies
We keep a carefully selected range of homeopathic medicine and are always glad to advise on what is best for you.
Satisfaction
If you have any comments or suggestions about the services or products we have supplied, please inform the pharmacist. We aim to give the best possible service and always welcome your comments. If you are unhappy-please tell us. The Local Family Health Services Authority also deals with complaints about the NHS services.
Chiropody
We carry a wide range of food care products, and we are always glad to advise you about any particular need or problem.
Delivery
We run a delivery service and are happy to organise deliveries of dispensed prescriptions for housebound patients. Ask your pharmacist or doctor for further details.
Oxygen Therapy Equipment
We supply oxygen equipment prescribed on the NHS and have many sets out on loan. We deliver oxygen to patient's homes throughout the area. We sell lightweight oxygen sets that can be carried in a harness over the shoulder and refilled from a larger cylinder.
Urgent Prescriptions
If you have an urgent prescription that needs to be dispensed outside our normal hours the local police should be contacted and they will arrange for a pharmacist to be called out. |
